Selective Animal rights and Human rights
  Sunday, 22 February 2009
In Sri Lanka only cattle enjoy rights over and above other species. If everything goes well they are almost certain to beat human beings and acquire the right to life.

Charity begins at home
  Thursday, 01 January 2009
Fatwa's are flying faster than missiles fired from Israeli war planes. Muslim brothers vie with each other and exhort the virtues of boycott of goods and Jihad.  Every other e-mail decrees that Nokia phones, Coca Cola and a whole host of well known brands of consumer goods should be avoided by Muslims to teach a lesson to Israelis.

Hedging

Yes we can!
  Tuesday, 11 November 2008
Barack Obama Jr. was elected as the President of the United States of America. Obama is a curious mix of many things.  Though he is not a direct descendent of slave African, his father was a Kenyan and the mother was a white American. He is half white and half black.  His middle name is Hussein and the last name is Jewish. He comes from a broken home. Grew up with white grand parents and was privileged to have a good education.

Other communities are all visitors (sic) to the country…” Obviously the Minister badly needs history lessons or stop being duplicitous.
Mahawamsa narrates the story how King Sinhabahu deported his son Vijaya and his friends (700 of them and their wives and children) on disciplinary grounds. Vijaya and his friends landed a place north of Puttalam. This is the one of the first “visits” (recorded) to this island by outsiders.

Long wait for freedom
  Wednesday, 15 October 2008
18 years is a very long time. Especially to a person who had been forcibly rooted out of his birth place. When one person is forcibly sent out that is called eviction. If that happens to a large number of people belonging to a religion and ethnicity it is called ethnic cleansing.   Hitler tried to exterminate Jews. Some people called it genocide. After the fall of Nazi Germany many were tried for crimes against humanity. Ethnic cleansing is also a crime against humanity.
