A.L.M. Faleel, young and experienced Divisional Secretary of Kaathankudy was shot at whilst getting ready to go for Friday Jummah prayers from office.

He succumbed to his injuries on 04/12/2005.

He was involved in settling down Muslim tsunami victims in their original townships around Kaathankudy when he was shot at. He was the first civil servant from Natpiddimunai in Kalmunai. He left behind his widow and two children.
