Muslim businessman shot dead in Dharga Town

Mohamed Zainulabdeen Arooz (44) of Miripana, Dharga town was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle riding gunmen last night.

Mr. Arooz, father of 3 and a businessman running a shop in Aluthgama town was returning home on his motorcycle after closing his shop at about 7.30 PM. Two unidentified gunmen on a motor cycle followed him from behind and shot him on the back of his head when he was taking a turn on the road to his house. 

He was rushed to the Kalutara Nagoda General Hospital immediately where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the deceased was carrying about 800,000 rupees with him in the motorcycle.The Aluthgama Police is conducting further inquiries into this murder.
