Clash between senior and junior undergraduates over the election of students' union has forced the university administration to close the university temporarily. The university premises are made out of bounds for the students with immediate effect. Vice Chancellor has taken steps to strengthen the security of the students and the university after urgent meeting with the DIG Ampara this noon. The Senate has authorized the closure of the university and the council is to meet urgently over the weekend.
